Staff & Professional Services

A licensed funeral director to consult with family members regarding co-ordination of personalized funeral arrangements. This may include co-ordinating the initial transfer from the place of death, obtaining vital statistics, preparing and placing death notices, arranging clergy,musicians, cemetery/crematorium, reception facilitator, coroner, and other necessary contacts. This fee also includes 24 hour telephone answering,receptionists, parking lot attendants, donation receiving and administration.

 
     
 

Facilities & Equipment

Includes the use of the facilities for visiting and the funeral service or memorial service. The organization of the visitation suite including arrangement of casket/urn, placing of floral tributes, or memory picture boards. A funeral director and assistants available as required to assist with Legion, Lodge, Rosary, Prayer, or other fraternal services. Lounge facilities are also included providing coffee, tea, & water during visiting hours. Usual visiting hours are 2 – 4 & 7 –9 P.M. (afternoon fee $240.00, evening fee $240.00 included in facility fee). A funeral director and assistants to conduct the funeral including direction of the family and guests. Additional staff is required for church services, which offsets the use of our facility.

 
     
 

Initial Transfer

From Place of Death (up to 50 km.)

The transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home. This service is provided on a 24-hour basis including staff, a specialized vehicle, and equipment. Greater distance transfers are calculated per kilometre one way at $ 1.90 a kilometre.

 
     
 

Facilities to Shelter Remains

Shelter of the remains is provided in a designated area until visitation, funeral service, or transport to the cemetery or crematorium.

 
     
 

Embalming

The vascular embalming and preparation include the cosmetizing, restoration, and hairdressing for the purpose of public viewing. Although embalming is not required by law, the Chatterson Funeral Home strongly suggests embalming if the viewing is delayed more than 24 hours. Embalming may be required if the deceased is to be kept in winter vault storage for spring interment if the cemetery by-laws so stipulate.

 
     
 

Preliminary Preparation

The preliminary preparation is the bathing, dressing, and placing of the deceased in the casket or disposition container.

 
     
 

Documentation, Stationery, & Supplies

The completion of all pertinent documentation; the completing and filing of Provincial Registration forms, procuring documents, permits, and providing 10 “Funeral Directors Proof of Death Statements” necessary for family/executors to complete the closure of an estate. Information pertaining to the arrangements is kept on file for future reference. A registration book for family and guests to sign with matching thank you cards and in memoriam folders or prayer cards are included in this fee.
